Disclaimer & Content Credits
Last updated: 5 August 2026
This page sets out important notices about the content of this website, including the accuracy of the information we publish, the imagery and historical material we use, and our independence from any government body.
It forms part of our Terms & Conditions. Please read it alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. General Information Only
The content of this website is provided for general information and public awareness. While we take care to be accurate and to update material when we become aware of a change, we make no representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability of anything published here.
Any reliance you place on such information is strictly at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on this website.
2. Not Legal Advice
Our explanations of the Flag Code of India, 2002, the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971, and the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act, 1950 are plain-language summaries intended to help ordinary citizens understand their responsibilities.
They are necessarily simplified, may omit exceptions and detail, and may become out of date as the law or official guidance changes. They are not legal advice and must not be relied on as a substitute for it.
For an authoritative position, consult the official text of the relevant instrument, or seek advice from a qualified legal practitioner.
3. Independence from Government and Third Parties
Samman Tiranga Foundation is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of the Government of India, any State Government, the Ministry of Culture, the Bureau of Indian Standards, or any other statutory authority.
References on this website to government campaigns, standards, laws, institutions or officials are descriptive and informational. They do not indicate any partnership, approval, certification or endorsement.
Where organisations are named as supporters, partners or collaborators anywhere on this website, that reference describes our understanding of the relationship at the time of publication. If you are named and consider the reference inaccurate or unauthorised, please contact us and we will correct or remove it promptly.
Any third-party names, trade marks and logos appearing on this website remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.
4. Images, Photographs and Illustrations
Imagery on this website is used to illustrate our work and the themes we write about. It comes from a mix of sources, including material we have created or commissioned, licensed stock imagery, illustrative and digitally created artwork, and historical material.
- Unless expressly captioned otherwise, a photograph should be treated as illustrative rather than as documentary evidence of a specific event, person, place or date.
- People shown in illustrative imagery may be models or digitally created figures, and are not necessarily beneficiaries, volunteers, members or staff of this Foundation.
- Historical images are reproduced for educational and commemorative purposes. Where such material is subject to copyright, all rights remain with the respective owner.
- Where a person is identifiable in a photograph taken at one of our events, we obtain consent where practicable. If you appear in an image and would like it removed, contact us and we will remove it promptly on verification.
5. Copyright Concerns and Takedown
We respect intellectual property rights and expect the same of others. We make reasonable efforts to use only material we are entitled to use, and to attribute correctly.
If you are a rights holder, or authorised to act for one, and you believe material on this website infringes your copyright or has been used without proper authorisation, please tell us and we will act quickly.
- Identify the material precisely — the page URL and a description of the specific image or text.
- Identify the work you say has been infringed, and provide evidence of your ownership or authority to act.
- Provide your name, postal address, email address and telephone number.
- Include a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder or by law, and that the information you have given is accurate.
Send notices to sammantiranga@gmail.com with the subject line "Copyright Notice". On receipt of a properly substantiated notice we will review the material and, where appropriate, remove or replace it without waiting for a determination of the underlying claim.
6. Statistics and Impact Figures
Figures published on this website — flags exchanged, citizens reached, schools covered, cities served, events held — are compiled from our own internal records and are provided in good faith.
They may be rounded, cumulative since inception, estimated where precise counting is impractical, or subject to later revision as records are reconciled. They are indicative of the scale of our work and are not audited financial or statistical statements unless expressly described as such.
7. Stories and Editorial Content
Our Stories section publishes two kinds of material: researched pieces about documented history and public record, and accounts of our own programme work.
Historical pieces are based on publicly available sources and are written for a general audience. Where accounts differ between sources, we present the most widely accepted position; we welcome corrections supported by evidence.
Where a piece describes an individual's experience, it may be anonymised, composited from several accounts, or have identifying details changed to protect privacy. Such pieces are illustrative of real situations rather than a report about one identifiable person, and no inference should be drawn about any specific individual.
8. External Links
This website contains links to external sites, and embeds third-party services such as maps and a payment gateway. These are provided for convenience and information only.
We have no control over the content, availability, accuracy, security or privacy practices of external sites, and inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement. We accept no responsibility for any loss arising from your use of a linked site. Visiting them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
9. Donations, Tax and Financial Matters
Nothing on this website constitutes financial, taxation or investment advice.
Statements about tax exemption or deductibility of donations depend on our registration status at the relevant time and on your individual circumstances. We make no warranty that any particular donation will attract a tax benefit.
Please consult a qualified tax adviser before making a donation in reliance on an expected tax treatment.
10. Website Availability and Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep this website secure, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, timely, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
You are responsible for maintaining your own device security and for protecting any tracking code, order reference or credentials issued to you.
We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, virus or other technologically harmful material that may infect your equipment as a result of your use of this website.
